Creepy Cryptids in the Cresheim

Meeting at the St. Martin’s Lane Trailhead (St. Martin’s Lane and Huron Street)
Join Trail Ambassador Jon McCabe and our Director of Field Stewardship, Shawn Green as we travel along the Cresheim Creek during the spookiest month of the year! We will talk about famous mysterious creatures such as Bigfoot, Nessie, the Jersey Devil, and some lesser-known local monsters as we encounter ruins and travel through a shady little pine grove. Along the way, we’ll work together to create legends and lore of a brand new Wissahickon creature. Costumes are highly recommended!
Please note that there will be a rocky stream crossing over the Cresheim Creek—sturdy shooes are a must!
Well behaved dogs on leash are welcome.

Parking and Transit: If you’re driving, there is street parking along St. Martin’s Lane. If taking transit, our meeting location is serviced by the Chestnut Hill West Regional Rail (St. Martin’s Station). See map for details.
Restrooms: None
Registration is required for all hikes so that participants can be informed of weather or other emergency cancellations. Unless otherwise specified, Trail Ambassador Walks may be on rocky, rugged trails that may be wet and slippery. Wear sturdy shoes or boots with socks.
