Countdown to the 250th: Neighborhood Edition

The excitement is building, with this year’s 2024 Countdown to the 250th ‒ “Neighborhood Edition,” featuring a selection of 7 Philadelphia neighborhood hubs, each with their distinctive cultural and business amenities representing our city’s diversity of attributes and momentum towards the future. The featured neighborhoods include Northeast Philly, Northwest Philly, North Philly, Center City, West Philly, Southwest Philly, and South Philly.
Countdown guests will enjoy a festive evening “touring” these selected neighborhoods while enjoying local culinary and pastry delights, and musical entertainment. The evening will include our annual VIP networking reception with special guests, a culinary and pastry competition among neighborhood chefs, as well as a live auction supporting PHILADELPHIA250’S mission of civic engagement and legacies for the People’s Commemoration.
The highlight of the evening will be the announcement of the 250th Neighborhood Gateways ‒ key cultural and business corridors ‒ chosen through a collaborative process to receive targeted public-private investment in business, tourism, and cultural capacity. These same Gateways will be the focus of curated celebrations during Summer through Fall 2026 of the People’s Commemoration for the 250th.
