Butterfly Exploration at Kellys Run Nature Preserve

August 24 @ 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm

Come explore the restored meadows at Kellys Run Nature Preserve which support multiple species of beautiful butterflies.

The end of summer is peak butterfly season! This hike will explore butterfly identification and ecology as well as the importance of restoring native habitats on our properties to support these important species. We will take an easy relatively flat one-mile hike through established meadow fragments and newly restored meadows and then tour the newly established demonstration garden to see examples of native plant species that can be planted to provide butterfly habitat.

Where to Meet: We will meet at the main parking area at the intersection of Crystal Drive and Street Rd.

What to Expect: This will be a one-mile easy hike on flat terrain, in the sun. Port-a-pots are available.

What to Bring: Dress for the weather. Drinking water is a must. Binoculars are optional.

Refund Policy: If you are unable to attend this event after purchasing a ticket, refund requests must be made at least 48 hours before the event.

Cancellation Policy: This event will be held rain or shine, with cancellation for severe weather made at the time of the event. If the Conservancy reschedules the event, attendees will be emailed and tickets will be automatically moved to the new date. If the Conservancy cancels the event, attendees will be notified via email when possible and refunded.
