Big Rocks, Big Trees Part 3 with Lisa Myers and Debbie Hoellein

March 7 @ 9:00 am - 11:00 am

Meeting at the Mt. Airy Avenue Trailhead (see map here)
There is plenty of free street parking near our meeting location on W Mt. Airy Avenue and Mt. Airy Terrace.
Please note there will not be bathroom access along our route.
This final hike in the Big Rocks, Big Trees winter series will find us on the Orange and White trails. Here we will find some massive trees along the creek and its floodplain. We’ll visit two of the largest rock exposures, including Climbers Rock and one of the largest veins of pegmatite. We’ll also have a unique view of the Fingerspan Bridge. From here we will take the White trail back and see more large trees! Pets should stay at home for this one, but service animals are always welcome. Be prepared for rugged trail conditions and a good time.
Distance: 2 miles
Difficulty Level: Difficult (many inclines and declines, uneven surfaces)
Audience: Ages 18+
Registration is required for all events so that participants can be informed of weather or other emergency cancellations.
Unless otherwise specified, Trail Ambassador Walks may be on rocky, rugged trails that may be wet and slippery. Wear sturdy shoes or boots with socks. Walks are cancelled in heavy rain or icy conditions. Service animals are always welcome. For more information contact Marisa Miller at miller@fow.org. Visit www.fow.org for updates.
