Kick off the new school year with us at Veterans Landing for a fun Back to School Day at the Lansdowne Farmers Market!

We’re celebrating with: A school supply donation drive to support local students A community children’s clothing swap—bring what your kids have outgrown and take what they need!

Plus, games, treats, and a little extra fun to savor the last days of summer

How it Works

Back‑to‑School Clothing & Supply Swap @ the Lansdowne Farmers MarketSaturday, August 23 | 9 AM – 1 PMVeterans Landing, 30 North Lansdowne Ave. 

Get your kids ready for the new school year, without breaking the bank! Bring gently used school clothes and supplies to swap, and shop the best of what your neighbors have to offer. It’s free, fun, and helps everyone start the year in style and confidence.

👕 Clothing Swap

Who: Kids and teens ages 5 – 18

What to Bring: Freshly washed items in new or used condition such as

  • Everyday Clothing
    • Blouses, shirts, skirts, skorts, dresses, pants, etc. 
    • Sweaters, vests, hoodies. 
    • Jackets, coats, hats, scarves, gloves, mittens. 
    • Enclosed shoes, boots, sneakers, Mary Janes, or sandals.
  • William Penn School District Uniforms
    • Elementary School: 
      • Solid colored uniform or dress slacks, shorts, jumpers, dresses, or shirts of the appropriate size for the student.
      • Shorts, jumpers, dresses, skorts, and skirts must be at the knee or no more than one (1) inch (approximately) above the knees.
      • Solid colored or white shirt with collar, either short or long-sleeved.
      • Pullover, vest, cardigan sweater, or sweatshirt.
      • Enclosed shoes, boots, or sneakers.
    • Middle School: 
      • Solid colored pants, skirt, jumper, skort, or shorts.
      • Shorts, skirts, skorts, dresses or bumpers.
      • Solid colored polo type, Oxford, or dress shirt, either short or long-sleeved.
      • Pullover, vest, or cardigan sweater.
      • Enclosed shoes, boots, or sneakers.
    • Highschool:
      • Plain colored pants, mid-length skirts, shorts. 
      • Plain colored t-shirts, button-downs, polos
      • Hoodless pullovers, Jackets, or sweaters
      • Enclosed shoes, boots, or sneakers.

Please Don’t Bring:

  • Anything with holes, rips, stains, or odors.
  • Underwear or socks.
  • Items that are no longer age‑appropriate (sizes must match ages 5 – 18).
  • Cargo Pants or Hooded Sweatshirts. 
  • Clothing with obscene, profane, or inflammatory language or graphics.

All clothing is swapped “as is”—no charge, just trade what you bring for what you need!

📝 Supply Swap & Drive

Who: Students of all ages (and families!) What to Bring: New or gently used general school supplies such as

  • Binders, folders, notebooks, and composition books.
  • Pens, pencils, erasers, rulers, pencil cases, and highlighters.
  • Lunch boxes, organizers, and backpacks. 
  • Art supplies (crayons, markers, colored pencils), and more.

Please Don’t Bring:

  • Broken or non‑functional items (e.g., calculators that don’t turn on)
  • Torn notebooks or binders with missing rings
  • Anything with missing parts or excessive wear

All donated supplies must be in new or good used condition—so they’re ready for another year of learning!
