AWE: A Watershed Experience with Margaret Kinnevy and Amy Yuter
July 23, 2023 @ 9:00 am - 11:30 am
Meet at the intersection of Forbidden Drive and Northwestern Ave.
The properties of water have fascinated scientists for centuries. Margaret and Amy will guide you on a Sunday morning stroll along both sides of the creek between Harpers Meadow and Bells Mill Road. You will discover the transcendent beauty of water in all its forms in the forest. Amy will offer you an opportunity to be like water and share how this behavior is used by park volunteers.
While this walk is relatively flat, we might encounter some rocky, rugged sections that may be wet and slippery. Please wear sturdy shoes. We expect to be out for under two hours, with a seated break midway, but please plan on up to 2 1/2 hours.
Distance: ~2 miles
Level: Moderate (some inclines and declines, uneven surfaces)
Unless otherwise specified, Trail Ambassador Walks may be on rocky, rugged trails that may be wet and slippery. Wear sturdy shoes or boots with socks. Walks are cancelled in heavy rain. Service animals are always welcome. For more information contact Claire Brennan at [email protected]. Visit www.fow.org for updates.
