SHARE Food Program Crew
The Community Design Collaborative’s Winter 2011 service grants will give 10 community-based nonprofits the push they need to achieve sustainable development dreams, and further their programs.
- SHARE Food Program, Inc. & Green Village Philadelphia: As part of the DVGBC’s Best of Greenbuild 2011 Conference, the Collaborative will lead a design charrette for SHARE and Green Village to come up with ideas for turning five-acres of factories/workshops/warehouses in Hunting Park into a thriving green business corridor.
- Vital Neighborhoods Initiative: The Collaborative will partner with the Preservation Alliance for Greater Philadelphia and work with three communities through the Vital Neighborhoods Initiative to attract new home buyers and jump-start homeowner improvements. Neighborhood grant recipients include the Fairmount CDC, the Wynnefield Overbrook Revitalization Corporation and the Powelton Village Civic Association.
- Fleisher Art Memorial: The Collaborative will work with the Memorial to draft a Request for Proposals for master planning services.
- Nebinger School Open Task Force & Bella Vista Town Watch: Both community groups will receive pro bono preliminary design services to come up with a landscape plan to improve the Nebinger School’s outdoor space.
