Foraging for Beginners: Plant Walk with Rob Greenfield in Philadelphia, PA
October 6, 2022 @ 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Plant Walk with Rob Greenfield in Philadelphia, PA
Food and medicine is growing freely and abundantly all around us!
For one month, Rob Greenfield is foraging 100% of his food.
Every. Single. Bite.
Nature is his garden, pantry and pharmacy!
While living on this bounty from the land, he is traveling across the US sharing knowledge and inspiration with YOU to help you deepen your relationship with our plant relatives and reconnect with Earth.
Join Rob for this Foraging for Beginner’s Plant Walk and learn how to safely and sustainably forage the common edible and medicinal plants that most of us pass by daily without ever knowing! Rob will introduce you to:
– Ten or more common edible and medicinal plants growing in your area
– How to safely forage
– How to harvest sustainably and be an ally to the plants
– Simple strategies for successful foraging and plant identification.
All are welcome, regardless of experience. Experienced foragers can come to learn more or to connect with other foragers in the area! Bring as many friends as you’d like and feel free to record.
We will meet at the Discovery Center and walk around from there. Because there are so many plant friends to make, we likely won’t walk very far. You are welcome to arrive at any time and find us. We’ll start with an introduction to foraging, walk around and get to know the plants, and end with a question and answer session.

Rob looks forward to sharing a hug with many of you!
PS. Are you a forager in the area? Rob invites foragers out to introduce themselves to everyone who comes and you’ll have a moment to introduce yourself. He is also looking for foragers to go out with while he’s in town. Email us at [email protected]
We are also looking for hosts for Rob and his team of two. If you can host one or any of us in a home or camping email [email protected].
