Hands on History: Daily Life in the New Nation

November 8 @ 11:00 am - 12:00 pm
Join this intimate tour to explore life after the Revolution through getting up close and personal with household artifacts.

Join this intimate tour to get hands-on with history. As we celebrate the US 250th, Daily Life in the New Nation highlights decorative arts used in Stephen Girard’s Philadelphia home in the years after the American Revolution. Visitors will be able to invited to look closely and even to handle selected items of ceramic and silver, along with archival documents, as the tour explores life in the Early Republic through household goods–how they were made, acquired, and used and what they can tell us about the bigger issues of the day.

Before you go

  • Founder’s Hall is a National Historic Landmark. The museum is located on the second floor and requires climbing a flight of stairs to view.
