Full Circle: Truth, Healing, and Indigenous Futures by Design
The Jim Thorpe Center for the Futures of Native Peoples is now rising on Dickinson College's campus in Carlisle, about a mile from the former Carlisle Indian Industrial School. For nearly forty years, that school used architecture, regimentation, and schooling as instruments of assimilation, bringing Indigenous children from more than 140 Tribal Nations to Carlisle and working to strip away their languages, names, and cultures. This project turns that legacy around.
