Plant Walk in Carpenter’s Woods with Simone Davis

Herald in the change of seasons with an early fall plant walk! We’ll spend time with our woody plant friends – trees and shrubs – studying bark, twigs and buds, as well as the lingering fruits of autumn. We will be honing our botanical skills and also discussing the medicinal properties of the plants we encounter. We’ll gather at the entrance of Carpenter’s Woods (at South Mt Pleasant and Greene St) and explore the trails through the lovely woods there. This walk is for anyone looking to start their journey with plants or curious to learn more about them. We will be outside, so come ready for any weather, rain or shine! (We’ll cancel only if there is severe or dangerous weather.)

This workshop is hosted by Simone Davis, an herbalist, gardener, educator, and founder of Nommo Apothecary. As a clinical herbalist of 9 years, she has run a Brooklyn Apothecary for 3 years and oversees a free Community Herb Clinic. Simone also joined the Co-op as Outreach Coordinator this past early Spring after relocating to Philly from New York.
