Foraging Walk along the Pennypack

Join us for a fun and laid-back foraging walk along the beautiful Pennypack!

This in-person event is perfect for nature lovers and anyone curious about wild edible plants. We’ll explore local flora and learn how to spot tasty treats in the wild. I will identify edible plants and talk you through how to identify them confidently. I will also share some of the ways to use what we identify, as well as some of their benefits.

No experience needed—just bring your curiosity, comfortable closed-toe shoes, a water bottle, and a bag to store your yummy treats. I also recommend wearing long pants to prevent ticks and to protect your legs better. Bonus points if you bring gloves.

Personally, I love identifying and foraging invasive species because we are actually restoring balance to the area by foraging invasive plants that smother out native species.

This is a family-friendly event. I have kiddos of my own who might be joining us.

NOTE: This event is not being organized by the Pennypack Environmental Center or Parks and Recreation. We are just meeting there before our walk. Instead, this event is being organized by Alyssa Reynoso-Morris, an award-winning children’s book author, mother, gardener, amateur beekeeper, and enthusiastic forager.

Come hang out, get outdoors, and discover the hidden flavors of the Pennypack!
