Native Plant and Insect Relationships

June 9 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Samantha Newstory will discuss native plant and insect relationships in this virtual presentation

Insects rely on plants for a variety of things, such as food, shelter, breeding habitat, and much more. For our native insects, native plant species are of particular importance as they often fill unique needs that other plants cannot. Join us as we learn how insects and native plants interact and support each other in our own backyards.

Speaker Bio: Samantha Nestory is the engagement manager and naturalist at Stoneleigh: a natural garden in Villanova. Sam’s prior experience includes work with Sarver Ecological, an ecological consulting firm, and Morris Arboretum. She is passionate about native plants, ecological gardening and insect conservation, and she is strongly committed to educating the public about these important issues.

The event link will be emailed to all participants the week of the program.
