Summer Solstice in the Wissahickon

Meeting at Houston Playground (900 Grakyn Lane)
Celebrate the Summer Solstice in the Wissahickon!
Join Trail Ambassadors Melinda Spink and Melvin Chappell for a guided hike through Houston Meadow, as we welcome the turning of the seasons from spring to summer. The summer solstice officially arrives the day before our hike, so we will celebrate the first full day of summer. We’ll walk the trails, enjoying the signs of summer—longer, warmer days and the full green canopy of leaves in the park. Along the way, we’ll share fascinating facts and lore about the solstice. Come celebrate nature’s balance and the beauty of the change in seasons.
Distance: 2.5 miles
Difficulty Level: Moderate (some inclines and declines, uneven surfaces)

Restrooms: There will not be restroom access during our hike.
