Join Fairmount Park Conservancy in kicking off Love Your Park Week with a volunteer workday at the Lemon Hill gateway in East Fairmount Park on Saturday, May 9, from 1:00 – 4:00 PM.
Lemon Hill is the historic birthplace of Fairmount Park, and this summer, it will make history again as the host of Philadelphia’s FIFA Fan Festival.
With Fairmount Park on the world stage this summer, Fairmount Park Conservancy and Comcast NBCUniversal are teaming up with local volunteers this spring to host a series of cleanups at the park’s entryway near Boathouse Row. Volunteers will help to remove invasive plants, add flowering shrubs, and prepare this space to welcome thousands of visitors from all over the world.
Volunteer projects include:
Removing invasive species (primary project)
Trash pick-up
Watering
Fairmount Park Conservancy’s expert staff will provide tools, gloves, and guidance; no experience needed. Just bring your enthusiasm, Philly pride, and love for parks!
