Bat Night at the Upper Roxborough Reservoir Preserve with Kris Soffa & JoAnne Woods

October 30 @ 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm

Meeting at Upper Roxborough Reservoir (see map here)
Join us for some Batty fun to celebrate National Bat Week. This is your chance to take a twilight hike around the Upper Roxborough Reservoir Preserve and learn more about these fascinating nocturnal creatures on a walk led by Kris Soffa and JoAnne Woods of the Andorra Free Library. Why do bats matter and how can we support the habitat they depend upon? Be prepared to greet a special guest and walk on uneven trails in the twilight and bring a flashlight.
This hike is appropriate for ages 8+.
Distance: 1 mile
Level: Moderate (some inclines and declines, uneven surfaces)
Registration is required for all hikes so that participants can be informed of weather or other emergency cancellations.
Unless otherwise specified, Trail Ambassador Walks may be on rocky, rugged trails that may be wet and slippery. Wear sturdy shoes or boots with socks. Walks are cancelled in heavy rain or icy conditions. Service animals are always welcome. For more information contact Marisa Miller at miller@fow.org. Visit www.fow.org for updates.
