Abandoned and Forgotten Cemeteries of Philadelphia and its Environs

Author and presenter Ed Snyder (the Cemetery Traveler) returns to Ambler Library with a new book and a new talk about local cemeteries!

Author, photographer and cemetery researcher Ed Snyder returns to Ambler Library with a new book and new and updated stories about Philadelphia area cemeteries.

Ed Snyder is a Philadelphia-based writer and photographer. Since 1998, he has researched and photographed hundreds of cemeteries internationally, documenting many that have been abandoned or have disappeared. He has lectured extensively on related topics.

Since 2010, Mr. Snyder has authored “The Cemetery Traveler” blog (thecemeterytraveler.blogspot.com), and has published three books, Abandoned and Forgotten Cemeteries of Philadelphia and its Environs (America Through Time, 2025), The Cemetery Traveler (Amazon, 2018) and Stone Angels (Blurb, 2009).

He is a member of the Board of Directors of The Friends of Mount Moriah Cemetery, Inc., (Philadelphia), and member of both the Association for Gravestone Studies and the Photographic Society of Philadelphia.
