Myths, Legends, Hermits, and Bridges of the Wissahickon with Stan Kozakowski and Michael Bridges

November 16 @ 9:00 am - 12:30 pm

Meeting at the Historic RittenhouseTown Kiosk
Back by popular demand! Plus a Live Performance of Kelpius’ Hymns.
We will explore some of the mysticism, mythology, religion, legends, history, art, music, and architecture found within the Wissahickon. We will have ample time to examine these from the three different perspectives of history, theology, and psychology. Along the way, we will visit Lover’s Leap, the Henry Avenue Bridge, the Hermitage, and Kelpius’ Cave. At each of these sites, we will consider topics ranging from hidden subway stations, apocalyptic movements, and the Wissahickon’s most famous hermit.
For the first time we will hear a live performance of the rich sounds and words of some of the most loved hymns that Kelpius composed, performed live at his cave. Not to be missed!
