Are you ready to make a difference in our community? Small Things Philly cooks and serve a free, hot lunch every Saturday morning to approximately 60-100 guests. Volunteers help prepare food in the kitchen under the lead chef, plate and serve the meal, and clean up. No previous cooking experience necessary!
They also have one of our Small Things Markets on site that serves as a small food pantry, which operates at the same time as the meal. neighbors every other Saturday morning (9 AM – 12 PM) with a generous box of fresh produce and other healthy food selections.
Our group will help set up, unload trucks, organize food, and distribute items.
Event Rundown:
Morning Shift
- 8:40-8:45am: VU arrives
- 8:45-9:00am: Volunteers Arrive and Check In
- 9:00-10:15am: Announcements from Small Things Philly
- 10:15-11:00pm: Working it
Lunch Shift
- 10:40-10:45am: VU arrives
- 10:45-11:00am: Volunteers arrives
- 11:00-11:15: Announcements from Small Things Philly
- 11:15-1:00pm: Working it
1PM – ?: Afterjawn (to be announced)
Parking details: They validate parking at Liberty Place Parkway garage, at 17th St. and Ludlow.
Septa: A few blocks from Center City Broad Street Line
Clothing requirements: Closed toe shoes and tie back long hair
