Summer 3-day Wheel Throwing Intensive

Join us this summer for a three day wheel throwing intensive. We’ll cover the entire process of crafting functional ceramic tableware, including throwing, trimming, underglaze surface decoration, glazing and how to load and fire an electric kiln! Demos will be tailored to the small group’s interests and skill levels. We will throw cups and bowls, and more advanced students will learn closed and lidded forms. We’ll also view images of ceramics ancient to contemporary. Students will get individualized attention, from design support to technical troubleshooting. This class is for intermediate potters and plucky beginners.

Class will run 10-4 with a lunch break Saturday July 27, Sunday July 28th and Sunday Aug 4th

Please note that this workshop takes place in the Utility Works basement, which is only accessible via stairs. The class requires participants to be able to sit and/or stand for at least three hours and use their hands for two hours. You mustbe able to lift 25lbs. There are two gender-neutral bathrooms available for students, including one that is ADA accessible.
