This camp is directed at children who aspire to one day work in the animal field, whether it be as a zookeeper, veterinarian, a future rehabber, or even just someone who loves animals! The activities in this camp will revolve around learning the basics of what it is like to work with and keep animals healthy and happy in captivity, with each day revolving around a certain aspect of animal husbandry. Throughout the week there will be different lessons, games, and activities following the theme of that day, covering topics such as diets, veterinary care, enrichment, training, and more. During camp, children will not only be learning about these topics but engaging as well, being able to assist in the care of some of Aark’s patients and even interacting with some of our “more-friendly” ambassadors.
Drop-off will be at 9am and pick-up at 3pm Monday through Friday. Be sure to pack your child a snack, lunch, a refillable water bottle, and an extra set of clothing and water safe footwear. If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to:
