Philadelphia: Protest Animal Abuse at Garden Bros. Circus Opening Day
June 15, 2023 @ 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm
Garden Bros. Circus is back in Philly and we’ll be there for opening to protest the abuse and exploitation of horse, ponies, dogs and other animals for its two shows on opening day.
Like all circuses that force animals to perform, Garden Bros. Circus has a long history of violations of the Animal Welfare Act, including failing to provide two elephants with adequate care and shelter. They were forced to stand on asphalt in direct sunlight in 89-degree weather without access to shade. Camel and pony exhibitor Joel Faulk and horse exhibitor Kambarov Raiychbek Kozugulovich were similarly charged. Faulk and Frisco later pleaded guilty to lesser charges of littering.
While Garden Bros. Circus is currently not exploiting elephants in its shows, the animals it does force to perform continue to suffer. Please join us to protest the cruel and outdated animal acts and urge Garden Bros. Circus to go animal-free as so many other circuses have done, including RIngling Bros.
Protest times:
Thursday June 15, 2023 – 3:30 to 4:30 PM and 6:30 to 7:30 PM
