Velocity Fund Info Session @ Icebox Project Space

An info session for Philly artists seeking project funding in 2023. We’ll cover eligibility, application requirements, and any questions!

Join us at Icebox Project Space, in the Crane Arts Building, on Tuesday, May 30 at 6:30 PM, where you can learn more about The Velocity Fund’s application — open now thru June 6.

Logan Cryer (2022 Velocity Fund Grantee) will also speak about their curatorial practice, including their upcoming project, Invited: Take Care of the Square Footage.

Accessibility Details: This event will be in-person and indoors. Masks are recommended. Icebox Project Space, located within the Crane Arts Building, is wheelchair accessible. There is limited accessible parking at the front of the building, and a ramp leading into the main entrance. The main building door is not automated. Once inside the building, there are no steps leading into Icebox Project Space. Two all-gender bathrooms with multiple stalls are available for use — one with urinals, one without, and both with 1–2 wheelchair-accessible stall(s). Folding chairs will be available for sitting. There is an HVAC system, which includes HEPA filtration.

The Velocity Fund directly supports Philadelphia-based artists with project grants up to $5000. Open to a wide range of experimental practices, particularly those that emphasize collaboration between artistic genres.

The Velocity Fund is administered by Philadelphia Contemporary and is supported by The Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts’s Regional Regranting Program.

Icebox Project Space is a contemporary art gallery located within the Crane Arts Building. Icebox focuses on performance, video, installation artworks and ambitious exhibitions that highlight local artists. Icebox is led by Co-Curators, Logan Cryer and Timothy Belknap.

Television provides low cost technology rentals to independent curators, activists and organizers in Philadelphia. Founded by Logan Cryer, Heidi Ratanavanich, and Tim Belknap, August 2020

Logan Cryer is a curator based in Philadelphia with a penchant for local art histories. They currently serve as the Co-Curator of Icebox Project Space. In 2021, Logan launched SNAIL Gallery, an online curatorial experiment. They like to re-watch documentaries.
