Things I Love: Pequea Valley Farm Yogurt

Start

The title above is mildly misleading—I am actually obsessed with this yogurt. It’s made in Ronks, a small town in Lancaster County, using milk from grass fed jersey cows, plus rainbows.

It’s thick and tangy and ludicrously creamy. The vanilla is a touch sweet for me, and the plain (which will be lovely once that summer fruit starts rolling in) is a bit much to eat sans accoutrement. Thank goodness for the maple—flavored with maple syrup, it’s the perfect balance of delicate flavor and mild sweetness.

Need more evidence of this yogurt’s magical powers? Look at that picture! The stuff if so thick that the spoon stands straight up.

Get some of this stuff now, seriously. Available at the Fair Food Farmstand and other PA Dutch retailers in the Reading Terminal.

  1. This yogurt is also available at the Clark Park Farmer’s Market (Saturdays 10 – 2 p.m.) in West Philly. My favorite flavors are raspberry and vanilla.
