SUMMARY:Delaware County Symphony Presents The Planets Symphony Concert
DESCRIPTION:Holst’s monumental masterpiece\, The Planets forms the centerpiece of this celebratory program on Sunday\, May 4 in Neumann University’s Meagher Theater. Also on the program is the winner of the Delaware County Symphony Youth Concerto Competition\, Kwanyun Loo.\nThe concert opens with a flourish of theatrical drama in Louise Farrenc’s Overture No. 1. Next\, cellist Kwanyun Loo\, winner of the Youth Concerto Competition and a Diploma Candidate and Fellow at the Curtis Institute of Music\, takes the stage to perform Tchaikovsky’s Rococo Variations\, Op. 33. The second half of the program features Gustav Holst’s The Planets\, a sweeping\, celestial journey through our solar system.
