SUMMARY:Discover the Wissahickon: Yellow Trail Trek
DESCRIPTION:Meeting at Wigard Avenue Trailhead (view location on Google Maps)\nOur Discover the Wissahickon hike series is presented by Newrez.\nJoin Trail Ambassadors Susie Gettes\, Lisa Kleiman\, Jennifer Danos\, and Kent Peterman for a longer hike along the Yellow Trail\, the main natural surface trail on the west side of the creek. On the way\, we’ll pass Courtesy Stables\, where we’ll try to catch a peek at some of the horses housed there\, Houston Meadow\, and Magargee Dam. This will be a moderately difficult hike\, and good fitness is required. \nCheck out a preview of our hike on Komoot below!  \nParking and Transit: If you’re driving\, there’s plenty of space to park onsite. Reminder to never leave valuables behind in your car! If you’re taking public transit\, our location is serviced by the 9 and 27 buses\, although it’s a 10-minute walk from the 9 bus stop. See map for details.\nBathrooms: None.\nRegistration is required for all hikes so that participants can be informed of weather or other emergency cancellations. Unless otherwise specified\, Trail Ambassador Walks may be on rocky\, rugged trails that may be wet and slippery. Wear sturdy shoes or boots with socks. Walks are cancelled in heavy rain\, extreme heat\, muddy conditions\, or icy conditions. Service animals are always welcome.
