DESCRIPTION:Meeting at Valley Green Inn (Forbidden Drive and Valley Green Road)\nParking and Transit: There are three lots near the Inn. The northern parking lot on Forbidden Drive can be accessed by Wises Mill Road\, and the southern by Valley Green Road. Overflow parking is in the Upper Valley Green Road Lot. The only nearby transit is the 27 bus stop at Henry Ave and Wigard Ave\, a 15-minute hike from the Inn. See map for details.\nBathrooms: There will be bathroom access at the Valley Green Inn before we walk over to Devil’s Pool.\nWould you like to be part of keeping the Wissahickon Valley watershed healthy and litter-free? Then join us on Tuesday mornings this summer for a Devil’s Pool Clean-up!\nAll are welcome to attend\, and no experience is needed. We encourage attendees to work within their own comfort level\, and we always strive to accommodate needs on an individual basis. With that being said\, this service day may include the following activities:\n• Litter clean-up: carrying trash bags up to 20 lbs\, hiking up to 1.5 miles\, navigating rocky terrain\n• Repetitive motions\nWe provide gloves\, tools\, and instruction–you just need to show up! Be sure to wear sturdy footwear and long pants\, and remember to bring water with you. Detailed information and confirmation of the meeting location will be sent by email one business day before the event.\nRegistration is required for all volunteer service days so that participants can be informed of emergency cancellations. Service days are cancelled in steady precipitation or other dangerous weather conditions.\nIf you are hoping to bring a group of 5 or more people\, please reach out to us first. SUMMARY:Discover the Wissahickon: Cresheim Crawl
DESCRIPTION:Meeting at Valley Green Inn (view location on Google Maps)\nJoin Trail Ambassadors Kathy Fennelly\, Bailey Graf\, Laura Bryan\, and Jin Xu for a longer hike along the Cresheim Creek tributary\, which stretches out northeast from the park and divides Chestnut Hill from Mt. Airy. We’ll explore the northern trails stewarded by Friends of the Cresheim Trail and check out some of the infrastructure they’ve put in place for the community\, such as an outdoor classroom and multiple bike boardwalks. We’ll also pass by the ruins of Buttercup Cottage.\nCheck out a preview of our hike on Komoot below!  \nParking and Transit: If you’re driving\, there are several parking options near the Inn. The northern parking lot can be accessed by Wises Mill Road from the Roxborough side of the park\, and the southern by Valley Green Road from the Chestnut Hill side. Overflow parking is in the Upper Lot on Valley Green Road. If taking public transit\, you can take the 27 bus to Henry Ave & Wigard Ave and hike about 20 minutes down to our meeting location. See map for details.\nBathrooms: The outdoor restrooms at Valley Green Inn should be available for use.\nRegistration is required for all hikes so that participants can be informed of weather or other emergency cancellations. Unless otherwise specified\, Trail Ambassador Walks may be on rocky\, rugged trails that may be wet and slippery. Wear sturdy shoes or boots with socks. Walks are cancelled in heavy rain\, extreme heat\, muddy conditions\, or icy conditions. Service animals are always welcome.
