SUMMARY:Intro to Crochet
DESCRIPTION:Come and learn the joys of making art you can use!\nThis class is a perfect introduction for students who have an interest in learning crochet. We’ll establish a strong foundation holding a crochet hook\, chain stitch\, single stitch\, double stitch\, and making a magical circle. We will show you demos and help you through guided practice. This class is welcome for all levels of crocheters\, but especially geared towards brand new beginners\nAbout the instructor: Elena Gans-Pfister (they/them/xe) is a fiber sculptor and installation-based artist. Their artwork is informed by micro and marine biology\, with liking the concept of taking the micro and blowing it up to the macro. Gans-Pfister was raised learning a variety of hand-fiber processes\, which include\, but are not limited to: cross-stitching\, sewing\, crocheting\, knitting\, and much more. These are the tools to create xe’s bold and expressive work.\nClass will run Wednesday nights February 18th – March 25th 6:30pm – 8pm

SUMMARY:LEDC 5-Year Strategic Plan - Community Input Meetings
DESCRIPTION:Join us on either April 24th or 27th for a community meeting to help shape the future of Lansdowne through art\, business\, and community!\n\n\nThe Lansdowne Economic Development Corporation (LEDC) is crafting a five-year strategic plan as part of our Main Street Matters designation renewal. This plan will drive our efforts to empower the community\, strengthen connections between artists and residents\, and build a more resilient small business ecosystem. \nJoin us at one of two community meetings where we’ll share our draft plan and invite feedback from residents\, artists\, business owners\, and stakeholders. Attend whichever works best for your schedule\, as both will cover the same content. Your voice will help shape the final strategy\, ensuring that Lansdowne thrives as a place where creativity and commerce fuel a stronger\, more connected community. \n \nWhat to Expect:\n\nPresentation of the First Draft of our 5 Year Plan: Learn about our new placemaking initiative that ties together art\, business\, and community.\nOpportunity for Feedback: Discuss key components\, share insights\, and help refine the plan.\nOpportunities to Get Involved: Learn how you can participate in our work through future focus groups in May\, through ongoing volunteering and committee opportunities\, and new programming.\n\nYour input will directly shape Lansdowne’s creative and economic future. Light refreshments will be provided. \nLet’s build a stronger community together—through art\, business\, and collaboration! \n \nParking: \n\nThe Highland avenue parking lot behind Dunkin is available for parking as well as parking along the street.\n\n \nFirst Floor Accessibility\n\nInclusive Design: Our first floor is designed to be inclusive and ensure accessibility for all.\nApproachable Entrance: Our entrance is approachable to all who enter\, providing ease of access for everyone.\nAccessible Restroom: We offer an accessible gender-neutral bathroom for the convenience of all visitors.\nWide Hallways: Our hallway is wide enough to accommodate wheelchair users\, ensuring smooth and easy navigation.

SUMMARY:Tufting Night!
DESCRIPTION:Come with a partner\, friend\, or anyone else and learn to tuft your very own rug!\n\n\nLooking for a unique date night or a fun evening with a friend? Join us for a cozy\, intimate tufting class where you’ll learn to create your own small rug! 🧶✨ Our space is accessible\, though keep in mind that tufting involves standing for extended periods due to frame height.
