DESCRIPTION:FOR ADULTS & TEENS AGES 12-17 | PRE-REGISTRATION REQUIRED \nHelp document the diversity of life found across Tyler Arboretum. Explore meadow and forest ecosystems on this guided Bioblitz walk with Tyler staff and volunteers. Search for wildflowers\, pollinators\, birds\, insects\, fungi\, and other species while learning about the habitats that support them. As you move from open grassland into the forest\, observe how the diversity of life changes from one habitat to another. Beginners and experienced iNaturalist users are welcome. \nContribute your observations to a community science project and help build a better understanding of Tyler’s plants\, animals\, fungi\, and other living organisms. \nGetting Started with iNaturalist:\nDownload the free iNaturalist app from the App Store or Google Play\, then join the Tyler Arboretum Bioblitz October 2026 project. \n\nOpen the iNaturalist app and go to “Menu”\n2. Select “Projects”\n3. In the search bar\, typeTyler Arboretum Bioblitz October 2026\n4. Click on the project\, then click “Join” \nWhat to expect:\n• Check in at the Visitor Center and meet your guides\n• Easy 5-minute walk to our bioblitz location\n• Walking surfaces that include pavement\, grass\, gravel\, and rocky trails\n• Some hills and uneven\, rocky terrain in the North Woods\n• Restrooms are a short walk from our location \nWhat to wear and carry:\n• A smartphone with the free iNaturalist app downloaded\n• Dress in layers for the weather\n• Hiking boots or shoes with good tread\n• Insect repellent; please apply at home\n• Water and snacks\n• Hiking poles (if you use them)\n\n__________________________________ \nMake a day of it at the Arboretum!  This program includes general admission to enjoy the grounds.
