DESCRIPTION:Join us for an exciting BioBlitz on April 28th from 10:00 am to 11:30 am at The Woodlands during the 2024 City Nature Challenge where people from all over the world collaborate to document wildlife in their city! \nIn partnership with The Woodlands\, Philadelphia Mycology Club\, City Nature Challenge and Feminist Bird Club participants will use the app iNaturalist to explore the biodiversity of The Woodlands (an incredible green space located in West Philadelphia) all while participating in community science! Community science data collected through iNaturalist observations is key to help monitor urban biodiversity health. \nWhether you’re a seasoned naturalist or a curious beginner\, all are welcome to participate in this accessible\, engaging\, educational experience. Spaces are limited so RSVP to learn more about the urban wildlife in your neighborhood!

Join The Woodlands and Walnut Street West Library to watch the eclipse near the Mansion. Bring your own protective eye-wear and get ready to look up at the sky in the largest open space in the neighborhood. \nAt 4:00 PM Librarian Kit from Walnut St. West Library will hold a special eclipse-themed storytime\, including songs and dancing! \nLearn more about the eclipse on NASA’s website. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nKNOW BEFORE YOU GO:\n\n\nWhat to Bring: Protective eye-wear and a blanket or chair if you’d like to sit in the grass. \n\n\nAccessibility: Check out our Accessibility Information for details on entering the cemetery\, navigating the landscape\, restrooms\, building access\, and more. \n\n\nDirections: The Woodlands is located at 4000 Woodland Avenue\, directly across from the 40th Street Trolley Portal.
