SUMMARY:The Secret Math of Trees
DESCRIPTION:Have you ever looked up at a tree and wondered how tall it was\, how old it was\, or how much carbon it had sucked out of the atmosphere? Join LandHealth educator Anisa George and Emily Bell\, graduate of the iTree Academy\, to learn some old school and new school ways of calculating the hidden value of a tree. We’ll be heading to the west side of FDR\, where some very impressive trees are threatened by the city’s plan for the park. Together we’ll do some citizen science and try to elaborate on the value of some of the most impressive trees in our urban forest. \nAll ages welcome. Dress extra warm (don’t forget gloves!) and bring a fully charged cell phone if you have one.
