DESCRIPTION:It’s that exciting time of the year again when our ponds fill to the brim with squirming tadpoles!\n\n\nJoin Riverbend’s Educators for this annual rite of spring that happens right  here at Riverbend. Learn about the lifecycle of the amphibians that live at the preserve and see the tadpoles in action. This fun event is open to individuals and to families with children of all ages. \nGuests will explore the preserve and visit activity stations to learn all about frogs.  Depending on the weather and other natural factors\, we may see a lot of tadpoles or none at all\, but there will be lots to enjoy at Riverbend. Guests are encouraged to visit at their own pace and stay as long as they wish. \nThis event is rain or shine so dress for the weather!

Planting trees helps combat climate change and maintain our local water supply\, as trees keep excess stormwater runoff from heading to the Schuylkill River watershed. \nSpend the morning with us at Riverbend enjoying: \n-Planting trees and learning about the trees that call Riverbend home \n-Playing tree-tastic games \n-Filling out an adoption certificate for the tree you planted \n-And participating in the Philadelphia City Nature Challenge BioBlitz! \nRegistration is required\, as spaces are limited. This event is open to all ages. Please bring your own water and work gloves. \nThis is a Riverbend PAY WHAT YOU WISH Event: \nThe true cost to Riverbend to offer this educational event to the public is $35 per family. We recognize that for some families\, this is unaffordable. Therefore\, we invite you to choose the price you wish to pay for this event. DESCRIPTION:Riverbend and the MLCPRI want to help families have conversations about climate change and take action together.\n\n\nDo you feel overwhelmed by the news about climate change? Do you talk to your kids about how they feel about it? Riverbend and the Main Line Carbon Pollution Reduction Initiatve (MLCPRI) want to help families have these conversations and take action together. Join us in Riverbend’s Snider Barn where you and your family will find a safe space to tackle these tough issues together. We’ll help you frame the discussion and provide every family with actions they can take right now to help address climate change.  \nThis event is designed for families with childrens ages 12 and over. \nThis workshop will be facilitated by a climate change campaign organizer and ordained pastor\, Courtney Wilcox. \nSandwiches and soft drinks will be provided. DESCRIPTION:Do you feel overwhelmed by the news about climate change? Do you talk to your kids about how they feel about it? Riverbend and the MLCPRI want to help families have these conversations and take action together. Join us in Riverbend’s Snider Barn where you and your family will find a safe space to tackle these tough issues together. We’ll help you frame the discussion and provide every family with actions they can take right now to help address climate change. \nThis workshop will be facilitated by a climate change campaign organizer and ordained pastor\, Courtney Wilcox. \nSandwiches and soft drinks will be provided. SUMMARY:Budding Naturalists Spring Session!
DESCRIPTION:Join Riverbend educators for a preschool-friendly nature-based program that includes a story\, craft\, nature activity\, and a “hike” around our preserve. Every week we’ll gather in Riverbend’s Snider Barn to begin the fun! \nThis program is one hour each week and is designed for children ages 2-5. A caregiver must accompany each child. Siblings under 2 are welcome at no additional charge. The cost is $120 per child for a six-week session. Enrollment is capped at 12 participants. The final meeting of every session will include a campfire and s’mores. \nThe Spring Session 2024 will be offered on Wednesday Mornings:\nMarch 6\, 2024 through April 17\, 2024 \nTime: 10:30-11:30 am \nPlease note there will be no program on Wednesday\, March 27th during Lower Merion School District’s spring break week.
