DESCRIPTION:Join us for a spectacular performance by the Philadelphia Children’s Theater! \nBaby Whale journeys through the ocean to reunite with Mommy Whale\, who has become tangled in a ghost net in the Great Pacific Garbage Patch. With help from his community of aquatic pals & new human friends\, Baby Whale helps make the ocean more safe (and more fun) for all. \nBaby Whale and the Plastic Ocean educates and inspires children and their grown-ups to learn about the ocean and all of the wonderful creatures who live there. Through the powers of community and problem-solving\, participants work together to have a positive impact on the environment. Our underwater tale ignites the imagination through playful interaction and creative theatrical storytelling. \nBaby Whale and the Plastic Ocean features colorful puppets and playful interactions. This show is best suited for elementary school students and their caregivers. All are welcome! Educational and adventurous in nature\, this play builds participants’ care for aquatic creatures and the environments they inhabit.

He is a past board member of Bucks County Audubon Society\, past president of the Delaware Valley Ornithological Club\, one of the oldest birding clubs in the country\, and was a member the advisory board of Audubon Pennsylvania State Office. He is currently vice-president of Bird Town Pennsylvania helping to build bird friendly habitats in Pennsylvania municipalities. He has devoted much time to the conservation of birds\, the forces driving their decline and what we need to do to save them. He leads bird walks with a conservation focus and lectures on a variety of related topics. He teaches a course on backyard birding through the Main Line School Night.

We’ll have a wine garden for the adults\, activities for the kids\, pretzels and water ice\, a bonfire and s’mores\, and live music. Groups are welcome to bring a blanket or lawn chair and pack their own picnic dinner. Or pre-order a picnic dinner to enjoy when you arrive. \nAt 8:30pm\, everyone is invited to the top of the hill to watch the sunset and officially welcome summer! \nRiverbend is a proud partner of Leave No Trace. DESCRIPTION:It’s that exciting time of the year again when our ponds fill to the brim with squirming tadpoles! \nJoin Riverbend’s Educators for this fascinating annual rite of spring that happens right here at Riverbend. Learn about the lifecycle of the amphibians that live at the Preserve and see the tadpoles in action. This fun event is open to individuals and to families with children of all ages. \nGuests will explore the preserve and visit activity stations to learn all about frogs. Depending on the weather and other natural factors\, we may see a lot of tadpoles or none at all\, but there will be lots to enjoy at Riverbend. Guests are encouraged to visit at their own pace and stay as long as they wish. \nThis event is rain or shine so please dress for the weather! \nThis is a Riverbend PAY WHAT YOU WISH Event: \nThe true cost to Riverbend to offer this educational event to the public is $10 per person. DESCRIPTION:In collaboration with Bird Town\, PA\, Riverbend invites you to our Spring Bird Walk.\n\n\nIn collaboration with Bird Town\, PA\, Riverbend invites you to our Spring Bird Walk with birder and conservationist\, Phil Witmer. Mr. Whitmer will lead participants on a leisurely walk around Riverbend’s preserve to check out the many species of birds that call it their home. \nWe are offering separate start times for adults and families. \nAdult Bird Walk: 8:00am – 9:30am \nFamily Bird Walk: 10:00am – 11:00am \nThe Adult Bird Walk is for participants ages 12 and over. Limit of 20 participants for the Adult Bird Walk. This is a free event but we do ask that you register. Please reserve one ticket for every member of your group. \nImportant Note: Comfortable shoes or boots\, layered clothing\, and binoculars are encouraged. Though not overly strenuous\, Riverbend’s trails are hilly. We are sorry but we cannot accommodate strollers or wheelchairs. \nAbout our presenter: Phil Witmer is an avid birder and conservationist with over 30 years birding experience. He is a past board member of Bucks County Audubon Society\, past president of the Delaware Valley Ornithological Club\, one of the oldest birding clubs in the country\, and was a member the advisory board of Audubon Pennsylvania State Office. He is currently vice-president of Bird Town Pennsylvania helping to build bird friendly habitats in Pennsylvania municipalities. He has devoted much time to the conservation of birds\, the forces driving their decline and what we need to do to save them. He leads bird walks with a conservation focus and lectures on a variety of related topics. He teaches a course on backyard birding through the Main Line School Night.
