SUMMARY:Birds at Rittenhouse Square with BirdPhilly
DESCRIPTION:Get a chance to see some early spring migrants!\n\n\nPlease join the Free Library of Philadelphia and Holger Pflicke for a Spring Migration Bird Walk! We plan to stay out for 1-2 hours\, depending on the location\, and walk mostly on flat and well-traveled paths. \nAll events are open to everyone and all skill levels. We will go over binocular use\, field guides\, and apps if needed. Everyone is welcome to stay for as long or as short a time as they like. Restroom access is limited or unavailable. Check the weather and dress for comfort. These events will happen rain or shine; cancel for downpours and storms. \nToday’s walk will begin at the main entrance of the Philadelphia City Institute on Locust Street at 10:00 am. \nThe Free Library loans out Birding Backpacks\, containing binoculars\, field guides and trail maps at ALL locations! DESCRIPTION:Fair Trade Philadelphia is pleased to host a program with Equal Exchange on their long-standing work with Palestinian olive oil producers.\n\n\nOlive farming is both economically and culturally significant in the West Bank. Many of the olive trees on these farms have been passed down for generations\, reflecting deep ties to land\, family\, and local heritage. Learn more about the production of olive oil and what the situation has been like for farmers in the West Bank. \nWe look forward to hearing from Equal Exchange’s Frankie Pondolph\, who will lead the discussion and share video interviews to allow us to hear from the farmers and cooperative leaders as well.
