Come out on adventures away from the center and out into the trees\, creeks\, courses\, and more!\n\n\nTeen Adventure Camp expands teens adventures beyond Pennypackand climbing to mountain tops\, kayaking along lakes\, geocaching through new forests\, hitting their target\, soring through the tree tops\, meeting new animal and human friends\, and much\, much more. \nAll adventures will begin and end at Pennypack. Full-time staff will drive the team in City issued vans. Because of this\, space for this camp is extremely limited. \nTeens can join one\, some\, or all adventures. \nRegistration is open at Explore_PEC.eventbrite.com for Kayaking at Glen Foerd (8/4)\, and Disc Golf (8/5\, location TBD). Ziplining at TreeTrails in Trevose (8/8) and additional adventures will be added when confirmed. \nAges 13-17Prices vary per adventure. \nWe also have a Teen Advisory Council that is during the school year for teens that are interested in environmental leadership. DESCRIPTION:Help us as we count the birds at our feeders for the Audubon’s Christmas Bird Count.\n\n\nLearn to identify and count birds at our feeders! This winter tradition helps the Audubon and PEC to track and learn more about the birds that live and visit our area. Young birders & beginner birders are encouraged to join. \nThe Christmas Bird Count (CBC) is a long-standing program of the National Audubon Society\, with “over 100 years of community science involvement. It is an early-winter bird census\, where thousands of volunteers across the U.S.\, Canada count birds in established locations December 14 to January 5.” \nThis year\, we will count birds December 16 at our feeders for all skill levels to join and learn more about birds\, counting birds\, and the importance of Citizen Science. \nCount volunteers will be counting every bird they see or hear. It’s not just a species tally—all birds are counted all day\, giving an indication of the total number of birds that live/visit the Center. \nWhile this is an opportunity for all birders to join\, if you are an experienced birder and would like to learn more about additional count events\, email Stephanie.Hoffer@phila.gov. The kids will get messy dissecting a pumpkin\, tasting the flesh and seeds\, saving some seeds\, then putting the remains in the meadow for the animals to munch on\, and the seeds to grow next year. \n$5.00 per child. \n Adults are FREE.
