SUMMARY:The Wissahickon in May with Debbie Hoellein and Jim McClory
DESCRIPTION:Photo courtesy of Brad Maule\nMeeting at North Mt. Pleasant Place Trailhead (see map here)\nJoin Debbie\, Jim\, and Katherine and Dave Bonar as we hike the Wissahickon in May. We will again be visiting the Frog Pond to see what the little amphibians are getting up to at the end of spring! The site of one of the largest mills in colonial North America is on our route\, as is the Fingerspan bridge by Jody Pinto. And we’re sure to see some interesting plants and rocks!\nWe’ll be climbing over more rocks than we usually do on our ~4 mile hike\, and the trails may be wet in places\, so come prepared in sturdy\, close-toed shoes and bring your trekking poles if you have them.\nChildren 12 years of age and older are welcome when accompanied by an adult\, but\, please—no dogs except for service animals.\nDistance: 4 miles\nLevel: Difficult (many inclines and declines\, uneven surfaces)\nRegistration is required for all hikes so that participants can be informed of weather or other emergency cancellations.\nUnless otherwise specified\, Trail Ambassador Walks may be on rocky\, rugged trails that may be wet and slippery. Wear sturdy shoes or boots with socks. Walks are cancelled in heavy rain or icy conditions. Service animals are always welcome. For more information contact Marisa Miller at miller@fow.org. Visit www.fow.org for updates.\nRegister below!

SUMMARY:The Wissahickon in May with Debbie Hoellein and Jim McClory
DESCRIPTION:Meet at North Mt. Pleasant Place Trailhead\nJoin Debbie and Jim as we hike the Wissahickon in May. This will be at least the 5th FOW hike (not all ours) that goes past the frog pond. It’s fun to go from not seeing them\, to seeing tadpoles\, to seeing frogs. And we’ll see what the frogs are up to on the last day of May. We will also visit the site of one of the largest mills in colonial North America\, walk through a work of art\, and see some interesting rocks and plants.\nOur 3.5-4 mile route includes some rocky ascents and descents and wet areas\, so come prepared. Children 12 years of age and older are welcome when accompanied by an adult\, but no dogs other than service animals\, please.\nDistance: ~4 miles\nLevel: Difficult (many inclines and declines\, uneven surfaces)\nRegistration is required for all hikes so that participants can be informed of weather or other emergency cancellations.\nUnless otherwise specified\, Trail Ambassador Walks may be on rocky\, rugged trails that may be wet and slippery.
