DESCRIPTION:A walking  tour to explore the district’s diverse plant life and learn about the fascinating array of sights and activities offered.\n\n\nExplore the possibilities of Route #38! Join Getting to Green on a captivating journey through the Centennial District\, accompanied by the knowledgeable urban forager\, Lady Danni. Hop aboard the #38 bus to travel from Center City\, through West Philly to Parkside Ave and  learn about the hidden plants beneath our feet and along the scenic pathways of this peaceful area. \nWe will walk together to explore the district’s diverse plant life and learn about the fascinating array of sights and activities to explore.  Highlights of the excursion include visits to Concourse and Centennial Lake\, the Please Touch Museum\, Kelly Pool\, and the Japanese Shofuso House. If you’re unfamiliar with this area or looking to dive deeper into the trails and pathways you can explore\, join us on the bus and don’t miss out on this informative and inspiring green adventure! \nLady Danni (she/her/crone) is a good lady forager\, and crafter of herbals helping people reconnect with the healing power of nature. She explores the edible and medicinal qualities of the “plants formerly known as weeds.” Learn more about her at https://www.landedgentress.com/ \nPlease prepare for the heat with adequate water and sun protection. We will be walking for about 90 minutes outside. \nDate: Saturday August 5.Time:  Meet promptly at 10:15am to ride together. The event will end at 12:30. Participants can stay at the park to continue exploring or ride back on the #38 with us.Ticket Information: This is a free event\, but registration is required as space is limited. Participants will receive a day pass for the ride.  \nSince space is very limited\, we will be contacting you a few days prior to the trip to confirm your participation. If you are unable to attend\, please let us know so we can open up seats on the waitlist. \nThis event is presented as part of Getting to Green\, an initiative to encourage use of public transit to access green spaces and parks in the city.
