SUMMARY:VU PHL-Spruce Foundation & Liberty Lands
DESCRIPTION:VU PHL and the Spruce Foundation are partnering with Liberty Lands to help repair & maintain the Northern Liberties greenspace\n\n\nAs a volunteer-led organization serving all residents and business owners of Northern Liberties\, the NLNA maintains Libery Lands & our community center\, connects neighbors to information and resources\, and advocates on their behalf. Together we seek to cultivate connection\, belonging\, and a sustainable quality of life in our neighborhood. \n \nWhat we will be doing: \nIn partnership with Liberty Lands\, up to 50 VU and Spruce Foundation volunteers will help to sustain the park through the following activites: \n\nRepair the garden path by filling in and grading the ground\nTree maintenance\nClear the compost pile for transport out of the park\n\nPlease arrive 10 minutes early for check-in. \n \nVU’s Birthday Celebration: \nAs part of this event\, we’ll also be celebrating Volunteering Untapped’s birthday! Feel free to stay afterward for drinks and appetizers\, and learn more about ways to get involved with the VU organization. \n \nEvent Notes: \nYou will receive an email with an attached waiver. Please print\, sign\, and bring the waiver with you to the event. \nExtra copies will also be available on-site. \n \nParking & Transportation \n\nParking: There is street parking available – we highly suggest carpooling!\n\n\nNearby bus routes: We recommend using the trip planner to make it easier to find frequent options. Bus route #57 comes directly to the corner of the park\nRegional Rail: The MFL train stops at the intersection of Spring Garden & Girard\, ~0.5 miles from the park\n\n \nA note about cancellations: \nIf your schedule changes and you can no longer make it\, please email volunteeringuntappedphl@gmail.com ASAP to let us know.
