Cradle is an awe-inspiring artwork that embodies the essence of Philadelphia’s unique character. The mural\, made of imported ceramic tilework\, features playful references to Philadelphia’s storied history as a city of many firsts\, while drawing on centuries of tile-making tradition from the artist’s native country\, Portugal\, as re-inspired by the nearby Moravian Pottery and Tile Works. Mural Arts and East Market for a happy hour event dedicated to exploring the story behind this signature project – with a premiere of two short videos on the making of the mural\, informal q-and-a with the project’s curator\, and a chance for you to share your own ideas about Philadelphia as a cradle of innovation. Food and drink will be available for purchase.
