SUMMARY:Planting Volunteer Service Day with Springside Chestnut Hill Academy
DESCRIPTION:Meeting at the Hartwell Lane Trailhead\nWissahickon Valley Park is much more than a place to recreate. It’s also habitat to hundreds of species of wildlife\, and it provides a green buffer between impervious surfaces and the Wissahickon Creek\, which is an important source of drinking water for residents in Northwest Philadelphia. On this day\, we will be partnering with Springside Chestnut Hill Academy to close an eroding section of trail by planting native trees and shrubs! This event is open to the general public.\nNo experience is needed. We provide gloves\, tools and instruction – you just need to show up! Volunteer service days are excellent\, easy ways to help us take care of Wissahickon Valley Park. Be sure to wear sturdy footwear and long pants and bring a water bottle with you. Detailed information will be sent by email the day before the event.
