As you pedal around\, use the kid-friendly binoculars provided to spot turtles\, ducks\, blooming flowers\, and maybe even a great blue heron –the long-legged shore bird the boats are shaped after. \nThis event is geared toward our FDR Park neighbors. \nChildren must be able to fit into a life jacket (30+ pounds) in order to participate. Waivers must be signed beforehand\, and all minors must have an adult available to sign for them. There is no place to store belongings while out on the water\, so we recommend bringing a small bag/waterproof case to store them in. DESCRIPTION:The Day of the Dead is coming to South Philly with sugar skulls and shining cycles!\n\n\n[ español abajo ] \n \nFairmount Park Conservancy and Cesar Viveros invite you to “Huey Mikailhuitl – La Gran Fiesta De Los Muertos” – Day of the Dead art workshop and festivities! \n \nParticipants will learn about the traditions and artistic practices of Mexico’s Día de los Muertos\, including a performance from an Aztec dance group\, a special sugar skull-making workshop\, and an altar-building demonstration using architectural elements of the historic FDR Boathouse. The family-friendly selection of movies will be accompanied by a food and craft market featuring local vendors from the Latino community.\n \n \nMovies are projected on a giant inflatable screen that turns the main lawn of FDR Park (across from the boathouse) into a spectacular outdoor cinema under the stars!\n \n \nGrab a blanket or lawn chair and bring your family\, friends\, and neighbors! There will be lawn games\, live music\, prizes\, food trucks\, and more at ¡CineMÁS! The movie and performances are free.
