To join the waitlist\, email boxoffice@pcmsconcerts.org or call 215-569-8080\n \nPremiering at Bartram’s Garden\, Root Song blends live vocal chamber music by Roomful of Teeth—an eight-voice “singing forest”—with Indigenous storytelling by Tchin\, transforming the unseen realities of the woodland into a musical conversation. Inspired by ground-breaking research on the connection and communication of trees and rooted in Indigenous Knowledge\, Root Song explores the mysteries of our interconnected natural world. Presented by the Philadelphia Chamber Music Society and directed by Jazimina Creamer-MacNeil\, the work is composed by Christopher Theofanidis with a libretto by Melissa Studdard.  \nThis is the second of two identical performances at Bartram’s Garden\, the first taking place on May 29. \nNATURE WALK – Potawatomi botanist Robin Wall Kimmerer will lead a nature walk at Bartram’s Garden before the performance\, from 2:00-2:40 PM. \nTICKETS – Root Song concert tickets are $35. A limited number of $2 tickets are available on a first-come\, first-served basis to Southwest Philadelphia neighbors as well as all ACCESS cardholders. ACCESS tickets will be available for sale starting on May 1. Directions\, parking\, and shuttle information will be provided to ticket holders. For tickets or questions\, please contact the PCMS box office at (215) 569-8080.

DESCRIPTION:RAW’s sanctuary is nature; the people are the church; the religion is love; and LaTrees Victoria is the “Lady of the Woods”. \nInspired by nature’s overflowing love and restorative power\, LaTrees Victoria and nature collaborate in the creation of soulful\, vocal arrangements\, soundscapes\, poetry\, and dance that awaken the imagination into a conscious rest. As the “Lady of the Woods\,” LaTrees will premiere\nher first ballet\, Rest Praise\, choreographed by her beloved birch trees and Honey\, a frequency collaboration with the bees of Bartram’s Garden. \nJoin us under the big tent of the Eastwick Pavilion to behold RAW: The Revival II!  The event will be as follows: \n\n3:00 The Processional – All are encouraged to arrive early and enjoy the organic symphony of Bartram’s Garden en route to the venue.\n4:00 RAW: The Revival II – LaTrees Victoria in concert with nature.\n5:00 The Fellowship with DJ Aura – Garden dance party\n\nSeating will be available\, but folks are welcome to bring their own as well (blankets\, lawn chairs\, etc.). This event is family-friendly\, but attendees should be prepared to sit quietly for at least 90 minutes without disrupting others.
