SUMMARY:Movies in Clark Park: A League of Their Own
DESCRIPTION:In 2026\, University City District will screen four films tied to the theme of freedom.\n\n\nWe had to postpone our Friday\, August 7th screening of A League of their Own (1992) due to forecasted thunderstorms. We will now screen the film on our rain date of Friday\, September 4th as long as no other films are also impacted by weather. \nDuring World War II\, A League of Their Own follows sisters Dottie and Kit as they join the first female professional baseball league and struggle to help it succeed amid their own growing rivalry. Starring Geena Davis\, Tom Hanks\, Rosie O’Donnell and Madonna. \nWe make every effort to announce postponements or cancellations via our social media channels and emails sent to our event lists prior to a scheduled screening. Sudden changes in forecasts or conditions do occasionally force us to postpone or cancel after a movie screening has already begun. Follow our Instagram account to stay up-to-date on news about Movies in Clark Park and the rest of our summer programming. \nUCD requires dry conditions in the Clark Park bowl to screen films without risking damage to the park. UCD may elect to postpone or cancel film screenings due to the following conditions: \n \n\nMuddy conditions within the bowl from prior rain or flooding\nHigh winds\nThe threat of lightning\nForecasted or sudden rain that can potentially cause serious damage to the A/V equipment we rent to screen the films\n\n \nDon’t miss the remainder of the series! \n \n\nFriday\, August 14th: Harriet (2019) RSVP HERE\nFriday\, August 21st: Zootopia 2 (2025) RSVP HERE\nFriday\, August 28th: The Matrix (1999) RSVP HERE\nRAIN DATE FOR ONE FILM (if necessary): Friday\, September 4th
