DESCRIPTION:About this event\n\n\n\n\n\n\nCitizens Bank has long financed private prison and detention facility companies even though there have been years of allegations of forced labor\, healthcare neglect\, and other abuses. Citizens is a lender to companies like CoreCivic and GEO Group\, which have caused widespread\, documented harm to people in their facilities. \nHere in Pennsylvania\, GEO operates the Moshannon Valley Processing Center\, the largest ICE detention facility in the Northeast. When people in our communities are abducted by ICE\, they are usually taken to Moshannon. \nJoin us to tell Citizens Bank that we want them to stop supporting this cruelty. We will protest peacefully with signs on the sidewalk outside the branch and we will have handouts for passersby\, to tell them about Citizens’ support of abusive detention facilities. \nA core principle behind our events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values and to act lawfully at these events. Weapons of any kind\, including those legally permitted\, should not be brought to events.
