SUMMARY:Winter Salt Snapshot Pro-  RESCHEDULED for Feb. 27
DESCRIPTION:Participate in salt study at Wissahickon Creek.  Collect water samples and analysis for effects of winter salting.\n\n\nWe apologize for having delayed the Winter Salt Snapshot twice!  The winter conditions were too harsh to safely conduct the study. \nAre you interested in participating in a citizen science study?  In the morning\, WEC staff and Friends of the Wissahickon staff and volunteers will be taking water samples at 20 points along the Wissahickon Creek and its tributaries.  Then we will bring back the samples and a few volunteers and staff will perform two test that indicate the levels of salt in the Creek.  Water collection is 9am-noon.  Testing is approximately 12:30-2:30 pm.  The majority of volunteers will be needed for collection.  \nWear proper footwear and clothing for wet\, muddy\, or frozen conditions.  You many need to drive to a location in the park to collect your samples.   \nNOTE:  Our new location is the FOW shop building at 7301 Henry Ave.  It is behind  the Parks and Rec.
