Mural Arts Philadelphia partnered with ACANA to strengthen connections among long-time residents and members of African diaspora communities in Southwest Philadelphia. \nAfrican Market Day\, designed by Liberian artist Abu Fofana and painted by Philadelphia native Parris Stancell\, celebrates the neighborhood’s identity as part of Africatown—a place shaped by migration\, tradition\, and community pride. The mural honors the spirit of home that links Southwest Philadelphia to cultures across the African continent and beyond.
