DESCRIPTION:In Celebration of Black Joy Month Join Us for our First Open Mic Night Series\n\n\nCalling all poets and poetry lovers! We look forward to celebrating #BlackJoyMonth (and our one year anniversary!) with our beloved community all February long\, and kicking off the festivities will be our first ever open mic\, hosted by @mayaisangelique on Saturday\, February 10th at 6:30pm! \n \nComplimentary alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages will be served\, so come join us for a drink and a vibe\, on the house! \n \nWe kindly ask our performers to prepare to recite pieces surrounding joy\, optimism\, liberation and progress for our people. \n \nDue to the intimate setting of this event\, seats ar limited so get your ticket today! We look forward to seeing you soon! \n \nFor Performers: \nWe will begin the welcoming of our lineup promptly at 6:45pm\, so we are requesting all poets to arrive on time\, as we will be going in the order of our list of registered performers. \nOf course\, all are most welcome to browse the store and mingle beforehand! \n \nTo ensure a cohesive show run\, we ask that each person limit their piece(s) to 5 minutes or less.

DESCRIPTION:Blk Ivy Thrift and Philadelphia Printworks Presents to you: The Preservation Project!\n\n\nIn commemoration of the 60th anniversary of the March on Washington we’ve teamed up with the phenomenal Philadelphia Printworks to create this special capsule collection. The Preservation Project will feature special edition commemorative tee-shirts available in store to purchase at Blk Ivy Thrift. All proceeds will be split evenly between Philadelphia Printworks and Blk Ivy Thrift as we are equal partners in creating The Preservation Project.  \nAs we gear up for the collection going live\, we’re hosting a collection launch party on Saturday\, September 2nd from 2pm-6pm at 3605 Lancaster Avenue. Join us for a live-screen printing activation led by Philadelphia Printworks\, conversations with the founders and of course a handful of commemorative tees available in-store. \nAnd if you’re looking for ways to engage with the project before the launch be sure to check out our “We Demand” Campaign\, installed by the talented street artist\, Symone Salib!  You can find the “We Demand” Campaign in North Philly at 18th & Fairmount and Broad & Spring Garden; in South Philly at Broad & Wharton; and in West Philly at 33rd & Powelton.  \nJoin us Saturday\, Sept. 2nd to be in community with other forward-thinkers while enjoying great food and fun.
