DESCRIPTION:Join us at Share Food Program! Sorting and packing nutritious food for the community!\n\n\nFor Volunteering Untapped’s September event\, we’re back with Share Food Program. \nShare Food Program leads the fight against food insecurity in the Philadelphia region\, by serving an expansive\, quality partner network of community-based organizations and school districts engaged in food distribution\, education and advocacy. SFP distributes food to hundreds of thousands neighbors in need each month\, over 50% of whom are children and seniors or people with disabilities. \nWe will be helping assemble boxes\, pack boxes with food\, and load boxes of food onto trucks or into a prep area for delivery to the community. \nMinimum age for warehouse volunteers is 13 years old. All volunteers under 18 years old must have a chaperone. \nYou’ll be expected to lift products between 2-35lb boxes/items at a time during the packing process \nActivities: \n\nSenior Food Box packing: fill empty boxes with shelf- stable food \nBox making\, product preparation for assembly line\nQuality-checking boxes\, taping boxes closed\, and stacking on pallets \nSmall cleaning and organizing tasks to aid in warehouse maintenance\n\n \nTransit and Parking info: \n\nParking: Lower lot\, below the apartment complex.\nNearby buses routes: 1\, 60\, 82 (Right outside parking entrance) 445 (Across the Street)
