SUMMARY:Stained Glass Planchette
DESCRIPTION:Learn the process of stained glass while making a Ouiji board planchette to hang in your home!\n\n\nWith this workshop you will have a chance to learn about all the steps of building a stained glass piece. This class will involve cutting much of your own glass\, copper foiling and soldering\, assembling a cane border\, and attaching a hanging crystal ball! You can choose your colors from a combo of pre cut colored glass\, and will cut some pieces yourself. We will add metal wire hangers. \n \nYou’ll be completing most steps of this project on your own. If you have any experience with a solder\, have attended workshops with us previously\, or are creatively inclined- this will be a simple class for you! If you are a complete beginner you may want to come with a lot of patience\, or look for one of our shorter classes. We will have a 30 minute break halfway through class\, and we are located conveniently next to many different food spots. \n \nWhile working\, your instructor is happy to share all the best websites and shops to help guide you towards building your own stained glass studio. Come with questions if you’re looking to continue the glass journey\, or show up just for the experience. No previous knowledge necessary. \n \nOrganized by The Craft Coven\, this event helps support our free and low cost programminng. DESCRIPTION:A retrospective show of selected works over the creative career of artist and community organizer Cassie Jones.\n\n\nFor the inaugural exhibition at our new Old City location we thought it best to start with an introduction; Meet Cassie! Craft Coven CEO (Craft Experience Organizer)\, founder\, educator\, and artist. \nCassie Jones ‘An Introduction’ : exploring the multidisciplinary evolution of Jones’s craft practice throughout her career. \nThe works included in this exhibition span a 20 year period of Jones’ work\, from her high school years as an AP art student\, through her time at The Savannah College of Art and Design\, then onto the many years of creating her own collections. Mediums represented include: leatherwork\, hand-bound books\, weaving\, works on paper\, repeat patterns\, accessories\, hand built ceramics\, footwear\, embroidery\, quilting\, lithography and pysanky. \nWork will be on display at Cassie’s Craft Coven Underground studio at 10 North 3rd street through February and March with the last day for viewing being March 18th. The show will be available for viewing during any Craft Coven event held at 10 north 3rd street\, and by special appointment. Contact info@thecraftcoven.org to coordinate scheduled visits. \nThe Location: This event is held at The Craft Coven’s NEW SPACE AT 10 North 3rd Street in Olde City. We are in a basement studio about 10 steps down from street level. \nIf driving plan to arrive a bit early because there is only street parking. We are super close to the Market Line so public transportation is encouraged.

DESCRIPTION:The Craft Coven has a new location 😀 And we’d like to celebrate with the community that has supported us for 9 years and counting\n\n\nCome join us in celebrating our brand new Olde City location as well as our 9 year anniversary! \nWe will have: \nGallery Retrospective: a selective showing of work made by Craft Coven CEO (Craft Experience Organizer) Cassie Jones over the years of her creative career. Work will span from her time as an AP Art student at Pennridge High School\, to her time at The Savannah College of Art and Design double majoring in Accessory Design and Fiber Arts\, on to Cassie’s position at Victoria Leather Handbag Factory\, managing the Center City Philadelphia Painting With a Twist\, as well as running her own leather brand CUSP by Cassie and creating artwork\, crafts\, and building community all the while. \nFREE Fabrillage craft for the first 20 guests! \nComplimentary drinks while supplies last \nOn the Spot Polaroid photos taken by @weirdphotos \nRaffle Prizes and tickets one for $5 or ten for $20 \nFebruary is our anniversay month for The Craft Coven\, so we’ll have a whole month full of special events. Along with our monthly Drink and Draw\, Clay Play\, Gab and Glue and Poetry events we will also have a special load of events for February. \nFirst off First on February 8th is a leather introduction class making trinquet trays.The following day on the 9th will be a Coven designed Stained Glass Project.Every Friday in February we’re running Drop in Craft hours with a Fabrillage project- it’s collaging with fabric!There will also be our yearly Anniversay event that will be a themed group tea party at our new studio on the 16th.Pamela will be offering an advanced stained glass class starting on February 22nd and running weekly for 3 sessions. Cassie will be ending the month by teaching how to paint your own pet with acrylic paints on February 23rd. \nPlease join us for the opening\, and sign up for a class as well! \nAbout out Location: The coven studio is located in the heart of Olde City in a below ground storefront. There are 10 steps down to get into the space\, and our ceilings are not very high. Anyone over 6’4″ will have watch their head until they have a seat. Join us this Sunday from 1-5pm in our new underground studio on 3rd Street in Olde City. The Coven is donating 2 cases of beer for anyone hanging out to craft with us. BYO is always welcome but please be prepared to share! \nWe will have Coven stored craft supplies out as a rummage sale.
