SUMMARY:Garlic Mustard Pesto Making and Weeding
DESCRIPTION:Join us as we weed out a large patch of highly invasive Garlic Mustard. We will then proceed to the kitchen and create a tasty pesto.\n\n\nGarlic mustard (Alliaria petiolate) is a tasty plant\, and a highly invasive plant that threatens many of our native spring plants. The leaves and stems are edible and true to its name\, taste like a combination of garlic and mustard. Leaves and stems can be added to salads\, cooked like spinach\, or ground into a tasty garlic mustard pesto! \nJoin us as we weed out a large patch of Alliaria petiolate growing through native plants\, such as May Apple and ferns. Then we will return to the building\, harvest the leaves and a few stems\, and create a garlic mustard pesto for eating! \nWear long pants and sturdy shoes. We suggest you bring a water bottle. Bring gloves\, or we can supply you with gloves.
